eat what you grow


at today’s craft faire, i met a woman who spent several minutes looking at my “eat what you grow” piece…she smiled and told me that it reminded her of her mother, who grew a Victory Garden in the vacant lot adjacent to their house growing up. She remembered working in that garden with her brother, planting the seeds, eating the tomatoes…she thanked me for making her remember something that she had forgotten for some time. and that, right there, is enough reason to continue creating art and allowing a woman to think of her mother’s tomatoes with a smile…
