lemons…copyright k.t blue designs 2009

we have this ceramic lemon statue that belonged to my grandmother deedles. and it’s one of those pieces that, for some reason unknown even to you, you just ADORE. it was a gift to deedles from her italian friend and it sits in our kitchen like a bright little ray of sunshine. i couldn’t resist making a piece of handcut art of it…and now this, too, is one of my favorites. not to mention the fact that i’m otherwise obsessed with lemons in general. love them. love them out in a pretty bowl on the kitchen table. love them cut up and put down my disposal so the whole house smells like lemons. love them cut up in glasses of ice water…and especially love them as the ultimate way to get your fingernails clean. just cut a lemon in half and dig your fingernails into the halves as if you were juicing them with your fingers. your fingernails will look gorgeous and your hands will smell delightful.
